I'm knee-deep in my dissertation on th-century British Literature, guys, and So, I've decided to take the plunge and hire dissertation editing service. First time for everything, right? One of my friends went with Dissertation Guru last year (her field is Astrophysics. Talk about worlds apart! She said it cost her around $300 for comprehensive check including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure but she was happy with their service. I’m kinda leaning towards using them too. But look, know as much about hiring proofreaders as do about quantum physics (that's to say, zilch! So anyone out there who's gone down this road before? What were your experiences like? Any hidden traps or golden rules need to be aware of?

Sometimes, when you’re so caught up in your research, using varied and dynamic vocabulary just goes out of the window. The whole "avoid repetition" rule gets blurry when you've been cooped up in your study for days on end. Just wondering if any other lit buffs had software recommendations or strategies they swear by?
