Found a free dissertation writer tool but now i'm paranoid about data privacy

I'm a 4th year engineering student and my dissertation is due in like 6 weeks. I've been stuck on my methodology chapter for what feels like an eternity. Last night my roommate was like "just use a free dissertation writer to get unstuck" and showed me this website that helps generate methodology text based on your research type.

I tried it and honestly??? It was actually helpful. It asked me questions about my sample size data collection methods etc and built a solid framework. But here's where my anxiety kicked in... I had to upload parts of my literature review and type out my research questions. Now I'm laying in bed at 3am thinking did I just hand over my original research to some random server?

Like what if they steal my ideas? What if my dissertation shows up on some database somewhere before I even defend it? The tool didn't ask for my name or school but still. My brain is spiraling.

Has anyone else used these free tools and worried about this? Am I being dramatic? I literally can't sleep because I'm imagining my dissertation floating around the dark web. On the plus side my methodology section actually looks decent now but at what cost??? Help a paranoid senior out please

I used some random paraphrasing tool last month and then spent THREE DAYS spiraling about where my research went. Engineering dissertation due in 6 weeks?? You're a legend for even being functional enough to spiral honestly. The methodology chapter is literally the worst part too

Here's what helped my anxiety: I went through and changed ANY identifying details in my actual dissertation after the fact. Like specific names of companies, exact numbers, unique phrasing. Probably overkill but made me feel better. Also check if your school has free access to something like Copilot with data protection! Mine does and I had NO idea. You're not being dramatic, this is valid fear
